A few days ago, my husband (geologist) reminded me that the unhappy anniversary of one year from the day when the first person died in the Czech Republic from the COVID-19 virus.

We therefore decided to honor the memory of all those who died as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. 25,066 people died in the past year.

The first question we asked ourselves was how to visualize the unimaginable number of 25,066 human lives… 25,066 lights, 25,066 crosses, 25,066 ribbons?

Gradually we came to the archetypal expression using stone. 25,066 stones – 25,066 human lives.

We piled a mound of white stones, which evokes an erupting volcano, or a spring springing straight from the ground.

Each individual piece of stone passed through our hands.

We will not forget.
